RELEASE | Golden Knights playoff run to hit radio waves

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa West Golden Knights along are proud to announce that the entirety of the 2020 Golden Knights playoff run will be on Hockey TV, the Golden Knights Broadcast Network and alternating between CKDJ 107.9 FM and AIR AM 1700.

Mason Detre, Davide Disipio, and Liam Arkinson will bring all the action with extensive coverage during pre and post-game shows, live interviews coming during the intermissions and play-by-play of every game.

Detre, 23, is in his fifth season calling CCHL hockey, beginning back in 2015/16 season as a student with the Algonquin Radio Broadcasting program with the Nepean Raiders, before moving onto the CCHL2 Ottawa West Golden Knights and the Ottawa Jr. Senators. He also holds the position of CCHL2 Communications Manager, and formerly broadcasted the Can-Am Leagues Ottawa Champions.

Disipio, 19, is in his second full season calling the CCHL after filling in during the 2017/18 season. A current Algonquin Radio Broadcasting student, Disipio calls the Jr. Senators along with the Golden Knights, and the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL. Over the past few seasons, Disipio has appeared on the air with the North Bay Battalion and the Sudbury Wolves broadcasts. This past summer, he broadcasted the Ottawa Champions alongside Mason and former Golden Knights voice Dante De Caria, and currently holds an internship with sports radio TSN 1200.

Arkinson, 20, is appearing as the new third man in the booth for the Golden Knights playoff run after wrapping up an internship at TSN 690 in Montreal. Arkinson is apart of the Algonquin Radio Broadcasting program and has called Nepean Raiders Jr A games over the past two seasons. He has also done some colour commentary for Golden Knights road games over the past season.

The Golden Knights will hit the ice for the 2020 CCHL2 playoffs in the Martin Division Semi-Finals with an opponent still TBD. The Casselman Vikings and Winchester Hawks will duel in the Martin Division Wild Card Series, with the winner being the Golden Knights playoff opponent.
