Ottawa, Ont. — The Ottawa West Golden Knights have acquired ’98 forward, Lucas Brown and ’98 defensemen, Andrew MacKinnon from the Arnprior Packers on Thursday.
Brown (’98) and MacKinnon (’98) were sent to Ottawa West in exchange for forward Jordan Fournier (’98), forward Matt Turnbull (’99) and a PDF.
The two Carp, ON natives were both in their second season with the Arnprior Packers before being dealt. Brown recorded just 24 points in 67 games with in parts of two seasons with the Packers. The ’98 born forward was off to a hot start this season, playing on the second line and scoring 11 points in 20 games.
MacKinnon, 19, was a member of the Kanata Laser Midget AAA program before joining the Packers last season. The Carp, ON native posted 21 points in 72 games in parts of two seasons with Arnprior. MacKinnon also has some CCHL Tier 1 experience after he played three games with the Ottawa Jr. Senators last season.
Turnbull and Fournier were in their first season with the Ottawa West Golden Knights before being traded on Thursday. They both combined for 11 points in 36 total games together.
