Ottawa, Ontraio – The Ottawa West Golden Knights played three games last week and finished 1-2. They lost to Carleton Place (4-2) on Tuesday, beat Renfrew (5-2) and were downed by Char-Lan (1-0) on Saturday.
The Golden Knights managed to just score seven goals, while allowing seven. The thorn in the backside of the Golden Knights was how they were unable to generate much offense in their two losses.
Against Carleton Place, they were tied 2-2 heading into the third period and fell a part. When they pulled the goalie, they went offside four times before allowing the empty netter. On Saturday (1-0 loss), either Rebels goaltender Grant Craig was the difference or the Golden Knights had trouble finding ways to get quality shots on net. I seems like the Golden Knights prefer to pass first rather than shooting.
In the Golden Knights 5-2 in on Thursday, they outshot the Renfrew Timberwolves 51-23 and went 3-for-8 on the power-play.
The Golden Knights resume their schedule tomorrow night at the Barbra Ann Scott arena when they host the undefeated Ottawa Canadians.
