Conner Cole, forward and second-year player for the Ottawa West Golden Knights, has game-winning passing instincts, helping lead the Golden Knights to countless victories.
Cole has been given the nickname “Smiley” by his teammates, as he has a continuous and contagious smile.
Even though Cole grew up a dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs Fan, his favourite player has always been Conner McDavid, centerman and captain for the Edmonton Oilers.
“I wouldn’t say my hockey playing style is similar to anyone, but I try to match my playing aspect with Connor McDavid, focusing on speed and good playmaking.”
As a student athlete, the nineteen-year-old prides himself on balancing his studies while being a competitive athlete.
“I balance academics with hockey by setting a clear schedule well in advance, prioritizing my subjects regarding tests, and going to professors’ office hours for help.”
Cole got introduced to the sport by his dad, who passed on the torch to Cole at age 4.
Before playing for the Ottawa West Golden Knights, Cole played for the Clarington Toros.
While Cole doesn’t have any intentions of playing professional hockey, his main goal for this season is to help his team go all the way to the playoffs.
Cole greatly contributes to the offensive gameplay of the Golden Knights, thanks to his keen passing instincts. Cole has eleven assists, greatly contributing to the rising success of the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
