Ottawa West snaps scoreless road drought to beat Richmond 5-2

Richmond, ON – The Ottawa West Golden Knights (8-5-1) snap their scoreless drought on the road, getting a 5-2 victory over the Richmond Royals (3-13-0) on Sunday afternoon.

Golden Knights would allow the Royals to score first, making it the third consecutive road game that
Ottawa West allowed the opponent to score first.

Ottawa West would break their drought scoring five unanswered goals in the win. They collected four of six points this week. Another three-game week will start on November 8th.

Offensively – the Golden Knights would finally score on the power play that went 1-for-3 after going 0-7 against Alexandria. Max Bush and Justin Jamer both had two goal games. Haymes collects 1G / 1A and his linemate Lucas Brown added two helpers. The line of Haymes-Brown-Jamer combined for six points (3G / 3A).

Corey Symington for Richmond would tally the first goal at the start then his second of the game late in the third period.

Lucas Brown now leads the team with (4G / 8A) 12 points in 14 games. These two teams will meet before the Christmas Holidays on December 20th in a rescheduled game that was supposed to take place back in September but was postponed due to ice conditions and the Tornado that happened in Ottawa.

The Golden Knights next games goes Thursday November 8th at the Barbara Ann Scott Arena against the Char-Lan Rebels. Golden Knights drop that game on the road 1-0 back in October. It will be the first of three games this week. You can catch the broadcast on mixlr.com/owgkradio at 7:15.
