The Ottawa West Golden Knights are back! It may just be for pre-season, but either way hockey season is upon us.

September third, the Golden Knights took the ice at home, in the Barbara Ann Scott Arena, for their first game back.

It was a tough loss for the Knights, but it was their first game back, and it’s just pre-season. The boys will be goldfish, and get their feet under them. There is so much faith in the team.

Besides, there were glimmers throughout the game, because there always are.

The Golden Knights worked hard the whole game, and didn’t give up. They kept fighting. That a glimmer in itself.

Another shimmer in the game was Jason Ward getting both goals for the Golden Knights, but his second goal was especially nasty.

“It was pretty much the same play as the first one from Zito,” Ward said. “I shot the first time, so I figured I’d change it up a bit, and it worked.”

A different piece of glitter sparkled in the game, was just being back. Back at the rink. Back on the ice. Back to the hockey vibes. The Knights also welcomed some new faces, including Blake Egan.

“It’s fun being back to hockey,” Egan said. “I’m excited. I didn’t know if I was going to play, so I’m just excited to be close to home, on a good team. It was a rough go, but we’re all getting our legs under us.”

They will get their feet under them, because this was just the start of a Golden pre-season, much less the regular season. There’s a bright future on the horizon, so just be a goldfish, trust in this team, and look towards that future.

This is just the start of another amazing hockey season for the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
