Golden Knights win their most important game against Alexandria on the Road

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa West Golden Knights win their most important game against the Alexandria Glens 6-2 on Friday night.

Ottawa West has now won two consecutive games after dropping three straight games. Alexandria scored two minutes into the hockey game to take an early 1-0 lead. They score two unanswered goals in the second period and four more in the third in a dominated performance against Alexandria.

The Golden Knights were up 2-1 heading into the third and had a power-play to start things off. Noah Haymes would feed Lucas Brown in front of the net to get his second goal of the game. It comes just 18 seconds into the third, then 15 seconds later Sam Edwards intercepts the puck in the Alexandria end and scores to make it 4-1.

Edwards and Brown would each collect two goals and one assist in a three-point night. Haymes tallied three assists while Nolan Marshall and Justin Jamer had the other goals for Ottawa West. The Season series ends in a tied at two wins a piece.

Next week Ottawa West will have two games. One at home against Carleton Place on Thursday and then they go on the road to take on the Char-Lan Rebels who are also trying to lock up the fifth and final playoff spot in the Martin Division.
