Golden Knights’ lose 6-2 in Casselman

Casselman, Ontario – The Ottawa West Golden Knights (20-10-2) fell 6-2 at the hands of the Casselman Vikings (25-6-1) on Thursday night at the Jr. Brisson Sports Complex.

Ottawa West drop’s their four straight regular season game in Casselman. Since the start of the 2015-16 season, including playoffs, the Golden Knights have an all-time record of 1-10 since inside the Jr. Brisson Sports Complex.

The Golden Knights’ scored first and the Vikings fired back with six unanswered goals. Ottawa West now trails the season series 2-1 with one more game to play. The Golden Knights also extend their losing streak to two straight games.

Daniel Goulet had the opening goal for West, coming at the nine minute mark of the first period. That snaps his 18-game goalless streak and gives him his sixth of the season.

Next week Ottawa West will play three games, with all of them against teams that have a .500 record or better. They’ll take on the Ottawa Jr. Canadians on Tuesday before closing off the week with games against Westport and Alexandria.
