Ottawa West Golden Knights forward Jacob Perreault has been named the Week 7 Source for Sports Player of the Week in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League, following a standout performance in two recent games. The Nepean native recorded two goals and five assists over two games, leading his team to crucial victories.
Reflecting on his achievement, Perreault shared his excitement, saying, “It feels great, honestly. I’m just happy we’re winning games right now.” For Perreault, this recognition goes beyond personal accomplishments. “I got to thank my linemates, coaches, and obviously my parents as well for supporting me. I just ended up having a great week last week,” he said.
In Ottawa West’s 7-1 victory over their cross-city rivals Ottawa Junior Canadians on Thursday, Perreault contributed two assists. He followed this up with an even more impressive performance on Friday, with two goals and three assists in the Golden Knights’ 8-4 road win against Embrun Panther
“I mean, honestly, it’s just all about pre-game rituals. Getting to the rink early, focusing, getting the boys going, getting pucks deep. Just classic hockey. Nothing too complicated,” Perreault said.
While Perreault enjoys the thrill of scoring, he is quick to emphasize his commitment to the team. “Scoring goals feels great, but, at the end of the day, it’s all about team wins. I don’t want to be an individual player; I want to be a team player,” he shared.
With 23 points in 15 games this season, Perreault currently ranks fourth in EOJHL scoring and leads the league in assists with 18.
