The 19-year-old from Nepean, ON, is making his presence known in the 2025-26 Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League season. With over 38 regular-season goals and 90 points, Thomas Dickey is a definite must-watch player.

Born and raised in Nepean, ON, the 19-year-old studies Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa. As a student athlete, Dickey has set a system for staying on top of his academics.

“I think it’s just getting on top of your schedule and managing school and having certain areas designated for school and certain areas for hockey.”

After learning to skate at the young age of four, Dickey then went on to play with the Nepean Raiders Junior A hockey team (CCHL) and the Carlton Place Canadians Junior A hockey team (CCHL) before settling with the Ottawa West Golden Knights Junior B hockey team (EOJHL).

Dickey idolizes players like Tim Stützle, Brady Tkachuk and David Perron.

“There’s a bunch of guys I like on that team (Ottawa Senators). There are so many good guys on that team,”

While Dickey isn’t particularly superstitious, he does like to be first off the ice during warm up and tries to avoid too long of a warm-up.

Dickey does not aim for a professional hockey career and says he plays Junior B hockey primarily for enjoyment and to be with his friends. In the future, Dickey aspires to become a gym teacher or pursue a career related to Human Kinetics.
