Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa West Golden Knights organization is proud to announce that 1997 born RW Tyren Boots has committed to ACHA D2 Marian University for the 2018-19 season.
The 5-10, 175 lb. native of Akwesasne, ON spent last season with the Golden Knights, where he recorded 14G and 25A in 50 GP while attending Algonquin College. In 117 career games in the CCHL2, Boots registered 61 points (25G, 36A).
The hard-nosed, two way forward spoke to us about the process and his excitement to succeed. “Committing was a very awesome feeling. I received a call from the Coach stating that he needed me to be ready to play right here, right now. With much excitement, I talked it over with my loved ones and very quickly committed. I will be continuing my education with majoring in Criminal Justice. Marian has a spectacular campus and a very positive energy to come with it. Being given the opportunity to achieve my education as well as hockey is just a huge bonus. All I know is that this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I can’t wait to enjoy beautiful Wisconsin!”
