Cameron Iob Named CCHL2 Goalie of the Month

Ottawa, Ontario – The Ottawa West Golden Knights organization is proud to announce the following CCHL Tier 2 awards given out to Ottawa West players for the month of January.

Out goaltender, Cameron Iob has been named the CCHL Tier 2 Goalie of the Month for January.

Iob, 18, went 5-0 with a 1.68GAA/.938SV% and recorded his first career shut-out against Arnprior on January 24th.

“After going through the loss of his close friends in the horrific car accident, he has dedicated his season to them and has lead our team with 5 victories in January including a shut out” explained Ottawa West Coach, Steve Sundin.

“Cameron is a real competitor and has always put his team first.  It helps that he is close friends with Chris Cuglietta our other goalie and they feed off each other to make the OWGK a contender in the Martin Division. As his Head Coach I could not be prouder of Cameron’s performance this year”.

During an impressive month, Iob also recorded a huge win against the Renfrew Timber Wolves, a game that he had circled on his calendar and wanted to win for his good friend Alex Paguette who passed away in a car crash in 2017.

Also to note that Ottawa West Golden Knights captain, Luke Mulivhill was named an honourable mention for Player of the Month.

Mulvihill, 20, lead Ottawa West to a 8-3 team record with 19 points (10G) and five mutli-point efforts.

The Golden Knights next game is this Thursday at 7:15 when they take on the Carleton Place Canadians.
