Bailey Pipe has been passionate about hockey from a young age, with his journey beginning at just four years old. Inspired by his father, who instilled in him a love for the game, Pipe has dedicated himself to hockey, playing every season since he was first introduced to the sport. Starting with the Timbits league and advancing through several teams, including the Quinte Red Devils (U18 AAA) and the Brockville Tikis (junior B), Pipe has gathered extensive experience over his 16-year career.
Known for his playmaking ability, speed, and defensive reliability, Pipe is a natural winger who enjoys the freedom of the position, often rushing up the ice and making quick passes to set up plays. While his coaches sometimes encourage him to shoot more, Pipe’s team-first mentality makes him a pass-focused player. His strengths include speed and tactical awareness, while he works to continually improve his strength and shooting skills to bring even more to his offensive game.
Pipe is not just a dedicated player on the ice; he’s also known for his leadership off it. Currently serving as an assistant captain, he brings energy and support to his teammates, maintaining high morale even when the team is facing challenges. His vocal leadership style has earned him respect in the locker room, where he values the camaraderie and brotherhood he shares with his teammates. He credits the team’s strong, family-like bond for making his time with the Golden Knights both fulfilling and memorable.
In addition to his athletic commitments, Pipe is also focused on his studies, pursuing a degree in finance at the University of Ottawa. His ambition and discipline are evident both in his academic achievements and his structured pre-game routines—each game day features a Subway meal and specific stretches, a testament to his commitment to consistency and performance.
Pipe’s personal goals this season are clear: he hopes to cap off his junior hockey career by helping the Ottawa West Golden Knights secure a championship. Having yet to win a title at the junior level, Pipe is determined to make this season count. Though he once dreamed of advancing further in hockey, he’s now happy to balance his university studies with his role on the team, enjoying the game he loves while leaving a lasting impact on and off the ice.
As he wraps up his final season, Bailey Pipe’s legacy with the Golden Knights will be defined by his talent, leadership, and unwavering dedication to his team. Whether on the ice, in the locker room, or beyond, he exemplifies what it means to be a true teammate and a committed athlete.
